Dr. Dan Landau, chair of the Department of Systems and Computational Biomedicine, was awarded the 2026 ESMO Award for Translational Research by the European Society for Medical Oncology. Dr. Landau was recognized for his work advancing the understanding of cancer evolution through innovative genomic and computational research, and for advancing the translation of these discoveries into clinical applications.
Dr. Rahul Sharma, chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine, was elected chair of the New York State Board for Medicine. In this role, Dr. Sharma will lead the advisory body that assists the Board of Regents and the New York State Education Department Office of the Professions on licensing, professional conduct, and practice standards for physicians and physician assistants.
